Burlington Police Department Adds John Morris As New Officer

Morris, who will begin his new job on May 15, was appointed Monday by the Burlington Select Board.

BURLINGTON, MA — The Burlington Police Department has welcomed new officer John Morris after he was appointed to the department Monday by the town's Select Board.

A native of Stamford, Connecticut, Morris will officially begin his new role within the department on May 15. Currently, Morris is completing his certification in the Merrimack College Police Academy and working on a master's degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice.

Morris previously earned his bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology at Marist College in 2022.

"I would like to wish Officer Morris the best of luck in his career here in Burlington," Burlington Police Chief Thomas Browne said. "Our officers are dedicated to continuous training and safety, and I look forward to seeing Officer Morris become an integral part of our team."
