Burlington Police Partner with Nextdoor, the Private Social Network for Neighborhoods
New partnership announced Thursday will enable officers to communicate with residents and facilitate virtual neighborhood watch.

BURLINGTON, MA - The Burlington Police Department announced Thursday a partnership with Nextdoor (nextdoor.com), a private social network exclusively for neighborhoods, to build stronger, safer communities with the help of residents.
Chief Michael R. Kent says the partnership with Nextdoor will enable the Burlington Police Department to communicate online with Burlington neighborhoods to build stronger, safer communities. Residents and Police Department staff will be able to work together to improve safety and strengthen virtual neighborhood watch.
“We have always invested in innovative ways to increase safety for our residents,” said Chief Kent in a statement issued Thursday morning. “With Nextdoor, we can help empower neighbors to keep their communities safe and connected and give them the ability to collaborate on virtual neighborhood watch efforts.”
