Burlington Police, Selectmen Honor Retired Lieutenant
Burlington Police Chief Michael Kent, the Board of Selectmen, and members of the police department were at Town Hall Monday night to honor Lt. Walter Bevis for over 40 years of service.
The hearing room at Town Hall was packed with members of the Burlington Police Department, their families, and members of the Fire Department during the Board of Selectmen meeting on Monday.
They were there for two accommodations for police officers for their work in the line of duty, two promotions and to honor a long-time member of the department who retired last week.
Police Chief Michael Kent and the Board of Selectmen honored Lt. Walter Bevis for his over 40 years of service. Bevis officially retired on June 4 though during the same meeting he was also appointed as a special officer, meaning he will still be working to assist the department.
