Burlington Schools Seek Public Input For Fall Planning
School districts have been asked not to make final decisions on fall reopening until August.
BURLINGTON, MA — The state's chief education official has asked school districts to prioritize in-person learning in their planning for the fall, but parents and teachers both remain concerned about the potential that going back to school could spread the virus. With that in mind, Burlington Public Schools has put out a survey to gauge parents' willingness to send their kids to school.
In a letter to the school community Monday, the district noted that all districts are required to create fully in-person, fully remote and hybrid models, but they are not supposed to announce final decisions until August.
The survey asks families which model they would prefer and what their main concerns are for in-person and hybrid models.

The survey also asks about whether kids would ride the bus and buy school lunches and what it would take for parents to be comfortable sending their kids to school.
Families can also send questions about reopening planning to 2020schoolopening@bpsk12.org.
