Burlington Sees Second Worksite Accident This Week

Police and fire officials rushed to the scene after a painter fell 25 feet from a ladder Friday morning.

BURLINGTON, MA — Burlington police and fire departments responded Friday morning to reports of a worksite accident, Fire Chief Michael Patterson and Police Chief Thomas P. Browne said.

A painter working on the outside of a business on Cambridge Street fell 25 feet off a ladder, police said. The worker has not been identified but was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for a serious head injury.

Officials are still investigating the incident. Massachusetts State Police and the federal Occupational Highway and Safety Administration are also on the scene.

The accident is not the first of its kind in Burlington this week — two men were electrocuted at a worksite on Tuesday.
