Burlington Street To Be Closed For Water Main Work
Burlington Public Works has announced that water main work will require the shut down of a local street. A detour will be in place.

BURLINGTON, MA — Burlington Public Works has announced that water main work will occur this week and shut down part of Cambridge Street.
More information on the closure is included in the Facebook post from Burlington Public Works below:
The Engineering Division, with the assistance of Weston and Sampson and National Water Main Cleaning Co., will be lining a sewer main, due to the critical condition of the pipe, across Cambridge Street. This work is scheduled to take place Thursday night, October 26th between the hours of 6:00PM-6:00AM. This project will require the complete shutdown of a small portion of Cambridge Street, from Wilmington Road (Route 62) to Chestnut Ave South. Please see the detour map. The work is to be completed that one night. As this is a residential area, this work has been attempted several times during the day but failed due to high flow demand. This is critical work that is vital to the Town’s infrastructure. Three pump stations pump sewer flow into this pipe and the collapse of it could cause major complications to the pump stations, residential properties, and could take weeks to repair.
