Burlington Town Election Latest

Residents have until February 16th to take out papers for any of the open seats.

With the deadline date to take out papers fast approaching, Town Clerk Amy Warfield is reminding town voters that there are still some unfilled spaces on the ballot where you can get involved with town government. Residents have until February 16th to take out papers for any of the open seats that are listed below. There are both townwide and precinct races open.

As of today there appears to be three contested races on the ballot: School Committee, Board of Health and Precinct 2 - 3 year Town Meeting seat. The School Committee race, for 2 seats, has four residents who have taken out papers: incumbents Christine Monaco and Tom Murphy and newcomers Jeremy Brooks and Melissa Massardo. The Board of Health now has three candidates, for 2 seats: incumbent Ed Weiner and newcomers Janice Cohen and Brenda Fortin have taken out papers. For the Town Meeting Members Precinct #2 race, there are currently seven residents who are running for the 6 open seats. They are incumbents Doug Davison, Anglea Hanafin, Daniel Hanafin, Patricia O'Brien, and incumbents who were moved from other precincts because of the RePrecincting are Brenda Haney and Jorge Andrade.
