Child Walks Away from Elementary School, 'Arrest Warrant' Phone Scam Reported

Following are excerpts from the Burlington Police Department log. Note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
Wednesday, October 2-
- At 7:13 a.m. a guest at Extended Stay America reported her motor vehicle was broken into.
- At 8:54 a.m. a caller from Fox Hill Elementary reported a 9-year-old child walked away from school. Child was located on Barnum Road and returned to her mother.
- At 5:22 p.m. Burlington Mall security reported a past theft. A man said he left his wallet in a men's room for about an hour and when he returned it was gone. Wallet contained $400 in cash, his license and credit cards.
- At 5:27 p.m. a caller from Kimball Towers reported a theft from his storage container. A paint ball bag with equipment worth $2,500 was taken.
- At 2:47 a.m. police arrested a Burlington man on a warrant from another agency.
- At 9:15 a.m. there were reports of a manhole cover flipped up causing a traffic hazard on Cambridge Street at the Route 128 North ramp.
- At 10:52 p.m. a caller from DPW reported that a recycling truck on Kenmere Avenue.
- At 12:49 p.m. a Peach Orchard Road caller reported suspicious activity. Someone moved chairs in her yard to a wooded hill area on her property.
- At 1:58 p.m. a Hart Street caller reported that someone left a message stating there was an arrest warrant out on her husband and they needed to pay money. The police log states this is a scam. The caller said no money was exchanged.
- At 6:37 p.m. a caller reported that her daughter ran away from the residence.
