Hogan, Hartling Voted to the Board of Selectmen - Other Race Results

The results are in and Patch has the results of the competitive town-wide contests.

Christopher Hartling is Burlington's newest member of the Board of Selectmen. He and incumbent Robert Hogan took the vote during today's Burlington Town Election.

A total of 1,893 residents voted. That is 12.09 percent of the 15,652 eligible voters.

There were three contestants for two open seats on the Board of Selectmen. Hogan garnered 1,276 votes and Hartling received 1,234 votes. Virginia Mooney, the third candidate, received 574 votes.

This was Hartling's first race for the board.

"I'm humbled that so many people voted for me in my first run," Hartling told Burlington Patch after the results were read. "A lot of great people helped me and showed me the way. I had a lot of support from family and friends. I'm excited for the opportunity to be a selectman."

The race for the Recreation Commission was also contested. Incumbent Kristine Brown was challenged by candidate James Meninitto. Brown won reelection with 1,274 votes to Meninitto's 487.

"I'd like to thank the voters for coming out and supporting me," Brown said. "I'm happy to be reelected and looking forward to continuing to work with the commission. We have a lot of project in the works I'm looking forward to continuing."

The third contested race was for First Constable. Incumbent William Pepicelli was challenged by candidate Dennis Otis. Pipicelli won reelection with 1,037 votes to Otis's 565.

The other town-wide seats were not contested.

Charles Murphy was voted in as Town Moderator. Wayne Saltsman and Edward Weiner were both reelected to the Board of Health. Ann Cummings was reelected to the Planning Board.

Christine Monaco and Thomas Murphy, Jr. were both reelected to the School Committee.

Steven Wasserman was reelected to the Library Board of Trustees. There were two open seats for that board and candidate and former Town Moderator Phillip Gallagher took the second seat.

Brian Curtin was reelected as the Town Treasurer/Collector. Anthony Saia was reelected as Second Constable and James Langley, Jr. was reelected to the Housing Authority.
