How Did Burlington Vote in the Special State Election?
The state went with Democrat Edward Markey, did Burlington follow the same trend?

The results are in from yesterday's special state election to fill the U.S. Senate seat left vacant by now Secretary of State John Kerry.
The contest was between Massachusetts 5th District Congressman Democrat Ed Markey and Republican Gabriel Gomez, the former Navy SEAL from Cohasset. Additionally, Richard Heos ran as a candidate from the Twelve Visions Party.
According to Boston.com Markey won the election after he received 54 percent of the vote.

But how did Burlington vote?
According to voter results provided by the Burlington's Town Clerk's office, Burlington bucked the state trend and went with Gomez. According to the results a total of 2,454 Burlington residents voted for Gomez compared to 2,135 who went with Markey. Heos garnered 20 votes.

A total of 4,620 voters out of the 15,426 of Burlington's registered voters, or 29.9 percent, came out to vote in the election, according to Town Clerk Amy Warfield.
