Man Arrested for OUI and Possession of Drugs
Burlington Police logs from August 23 to 24.

Following are excerpts from the Burlington Police Department log. Note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
Friday, August 23-
- At 9:02 a.m. a caller on Cambridge Street reported a driver of a van operating erratically. Vehicle was gone when police arrived.
- At 11 a.m. a Laurel Lane caller reported that a female tenant of his took the keys to his vehicle and was driving it without permission. The caller further explained that the tenant is his ex-girlfriend and he think that she or her father had the vehicle. He also told police that the father has a firearm he flashed at him in the past.
- The 1:52 p.m. a Beacon Village manager reported a white male driving a green pick up truck took steel gates used to secure on-site trash bins. Police spoke to the man who was the owner of a scrap metal pickup business and said it was a misunderstanding and returned the items.
- At 3:24 p.m. a caller at the Burlington Mall reported her motor vehicle was keyed in the parking lot.
- At 12:27 a.m. a caller at Tavern in the Square said a male was inquiring about purchasing narcotics. The man was wearing a purple jersey and had a beard.
- At 2:57 a.m. police arrested John R. Tufts, 46, of 384 Place Lane, Woburn, on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, speeding in a special regulation area and possession of a Class B drug.
- At 2:25 p.m. a Mallard Way caller reported a male wearing a black hoodie possibly casing the area.
- At 3:38 p.m. a caller at the Heritage at Stone Ridge Apartments reported a hit and run accident.
