Memorial Day Events in Burlington
Ceremonies take place at the Town Common and at Chestnut Hill Cemetery.

Burlington’s Memorial Day ceremony will take place on Monday, May 25. This year’s theme is “The End of World War II.”
Memorial Day is a day of remembering the men and women who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. It is a day for our nation to remember, reflect upon and honor those who have given their all in service to their country.
This year marks marks the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Iwo Jima. During this battle 6,035 American soldiers were killed.

Burlington’s ceremonies will begin at 8 a.m. with a flag raising on the town common, followed by a ceremony at Chestnut Hill Cemetery at 10 a.m.
