Police Warn Parents About Dangerous 'Door Kick Challenge' On Social Media In Burlington

Local police are issuing a warning about a dangerous nationwide trend that has led to arrests elsewhere.

BURLINGTON, MA — Burlington Police are warning the community about a troubling social media trend targeting teens known as the “Door Kick Challenge.”

According to a tweet from the Burlington Police Department, the challenge encourages participants to kick doors late at night to startle homeowners and record their reactions to post online. Police emphasized that the activity is not a harmless prank, and participating teens could face serious legal consequences.

“This is not a prank—serious charges and harm can result,” the department said in the tweet. “Parents, please talk with kids. Stay alert.”

Residents who encounter suspicious activity or have information about the challenge are encouraged to contact Burlington Police.

One example of the prank occurred recently in Cape Cod. At least five residents in Bourne have reported that their doors were kicked in recent weeks, with one door busting fully open, according to Boston 25 News.
