Person Struck in Crosswalk, Man Threatened, People Trapped in Elevator, Downed Trees and More

BURLINGTON, MA - The following is a sampling of log entries provided by the Burlington Police Department. Where mentioned, an arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Wednesday, Feb. 3

6:06 a.m. - Caller reports possible abandoned vehicle in the area of 96 Center St. at 125 Winn St. Vehicle ran out of gas.

11:43 a.m. - Person in station reporting she believes her vehicle was struck while parked in the Starbucks parking lot at 201 Middlesex Turnpike, leaving damage to her front bumper. No witnesses or suspects at this time.

12:02 p.m. - Caller reports being struck by a vehicle while crossing the street in a crosswalk at Lahey Hospital, 41 Mall Road. She is not injured but wanted the incident be logged. She shared with police the make, model and registration of the vehicle and was escorted to Lahey’s emergency room.

1:33 p.m. - Person reports being being threatened by the operator of another vehicle at Extended Stay America, 40 South Ave. A written warning was issued to the owner of the vehicle. Manager of hotel reports involved party and a female were removed from hotel and stated “they would be back.” Manager requests incident be logged.

3:32 p.m. - Caller from Lids, 75 Middlesex Ave. reports internal fraud. A 22-year-old man from Lowell was summonsed for larceny over $250 by false pretense.

4:02 p.m. - Manager of GameStop reports a past theft by a suspect who fled the area with $16 to $24 worth of Pokemon cards.

4:53 p.m.- Caller reports tree branches in the road impacting traffic in the area of 76 Mill St. at Skilton Lane. Debris was removed from the roadway. NSTAR was called and notified that there was a branch hung up in wires between poles in that area.

6:40 p.m. - Caller from Hilton Garden Inn, 5 Wheeler Road reports the hotel lost power and there are guests stuck in the elevator. Fire Department handled.

8:04 p.m. - Caller reports branch in the roadway in the area of 132 Bedford St. at Francis Wyman Road. Officer removed branch and a message was left for the highway department.

9:54 p.m. - Reports of a tree down across the road on Winona Road. Power was lost in the area and Eversource notified. The pole cracked and transformer damaged.

11:47 p.m. - Caller on Princeton Road states a motor vehicle struck his mailbox and drove off. Police were unable to locate the vehicle.
