Police Logs: Cell Phone Stolen, Ducks Rescued from Storm Drain
Burlington Police Department logs for May 9 to 10.

Following are excerpts from the Burlington Police Department log. Note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
May 9
- At 8:40 a.m. a caller at the Burlington Mall reported a female sitting on the front sidewalk yelling at people as they go by. Woman was worried about the ducks in the drain. Ducks rescued by animal control officer.
- At 9:50 a.m. police issued a summons to a Billerica man on a charge of trash/litter. Summons issued after a College Road caller reported someone dumped trash, including paint cans and batteries, in his trash barrel. His daughter caught the license plate of the vehicle.
- At 4:47 p.m. a caller at Coventry Health Care reported her cell phone was stolen that afternoon at work. She said she left it in the restroom and noticed it was missing and it wasn't there when she checked. Phone was an iPhone in a lime green case and was valued at $400.
- At 5:08 p.m. police arrested a Burlington man on a warrant from another agency.
- At 5:21 p.m. a Wildmere Avenue caller reported a suspicious male on foot in the area checking out houses. Described as a white male in his late 30s wearing blue jeans, a white shirt and a white baseball hat.
- At 6:03 p.m. police put a Burlington man into protective custody after his wife reported he was intoxicated and walking around outside without shoes.

- At 7:27 a.m. a Princeton Road caller reported smoke coming from the mulch bed in front of her house. Burlington Fire handled the situation.
- At 2:12 p.m. Sears reported detaining a female shoplifter who allegedly tried to steal $291 in clothing. Store to seek civil demand and payment.
- At 7:19 p.m. a caller reported her husband struck her son and is now on the roof of the sunporch. The man was voluntarily brought to Lahey Clinic.
- At 7:59 p.m. a caller at the Burlington Mall reported her vehicle was struck while parked. Damage to both driver side doors and rear bumper.
- At 9:43 p.m. a caller at Chili's Bar & Grill reported two women in the parking lot fighting.
