Police Logs: Juvenile Arrested for Assault and Battery, Resisting Arrest

Burlington Police Department logs for May 18 to 19.

Following are excerpts from the Burlington Police Department log. Note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

May 18

  • At 9:39 a.m. a Bedford Street caller reported having a problem with a neighbor. This is an ongoing problem.
  • At 2:57 p.m. a Mountain Road caller reported a dog struck by a motor vehicle. The owner said his dog ran out into the road and the operator of the motor vehicle stopped to exchange information. The animal died from the accident.
  • At 3:22 p.m. a Middlesex Turnpike caller reported three youths walking down the street yelling profanities at passing cars. The youths were gone when police arrived.
  • At 10:18 p.m. a Princeton Road caller reported shots fire in the area. Evidence of fireworks found.
  • At 11:11 p.m. a caller reported a group of kids making noise at Veterans Park. Youths sent on their way.

  • At 1:27 p.m. a Mill Street caller reported dirt bikes being ridden in the area.
  • At 3:35 p.m. police arrested a 16-year-old juvenile on charges of assault and battery, resisting arrest and malicious destruction of property under $250. Arrest made after a Gardner Way caller reported a domestic incident and the offending partly fled prior to police arrival.
  • At 5:55 p.m. police issued a summons to a female after Lord & Taylor loss prevention reported detaining her for shoplifting $355 in merchandise.
  • At 8:04 p.m. a caller on Wayside Road reported a small duckling was struck by a vehicle and that other ducks in the brood were circling around the hit bird causing a road hazard. The ducks had moved on by the time police arrived.
  • At 9:23 p.m. a Peach Orchard Road caller reported someone was in her back yard. The same house was broken into the month before. Police checked the area but did not find anyone.
