Police Logs: Knife Pulled on Macy's Loss Prevention, Man Arrested for Drug Possession

Burlington Police Department logs for April 20 to 21.

Following are excerpts from the Burlington Police Department log. Note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

April 20

  • At 12:58 a.m. a Hart Street caller said their mailbox was vandalized but they did not wish to file a report.
  • At 11:42 a.m. a Terrace Hall Ave. caller reported his generator was stolen from a shed. Value of approximately $2,700.
  • At 3:46 p.m. Best Buy loss prevention reported a past theft of $17.
  • At 4:50 p.m. a caller at H Mart reported a driver of a dark colored Nissan with Pennsylvania plates had an infant on their lap and not secured in child seat.
  • At 8:21 p.m. a Spencer Gifts caller reported detaining two shoplifters who allegedly attempted to steal $20 in merchandise and neither had identification. Two female juveniles released to parents. Store to handle.

April 21

  • At 1:23 a.m. a Cambridge Street caller reported a suspicious red vehicle with two people sitting in it. Parties told to leave and they agreed.
  • At 9:52 a.m. a Terrace Hall Avenue caller reported his neighbor was yelling outside his house throughout the night. Caller said this is an ongoing problem and that his neighbor had been revving his truck at all hours of the night and the night before was yelling "is this loud enough for you?" Caller was advised to seek harassment order.
  • At 1:47 p.m. police issued a summons to a Somerville man on charges of shoplifting by concealing merchandise (3 counts) and possession of a burglarious instrument.
  • At 1:54 p.m. an officer on South Bedford Street was flagged down by a motorist who reports two suspicious males in the area of Mary Cummings Park. Motorist described them as Middle Eastern men with backpacks. Officer spoke with the two men, who were from India and staying in town for business.
  • At 5:58 p.m. Macy's loss prevention reported a male party shoplifted from the store and pulled a knife on loss prevention as he fled the store. Male described as white, approximately 30 years old, 5'9'' with brown hair and a goatee. Click here for the full story. 
  • At 6:42 p.m. police arrested Luke Raymond Penton, 28, of 61 Loretta Road, Waltham, on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of a Class B drug. Arrest made following a motor vehicle stop.
