Police Logs: Man Arrested for Assault and Battery, Shoplifter Arrested

Burlington Police Department logs for May 29 to 30.

Following are excerpts from the Burlington Police Department log. Note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

May 29-

  • At 8:06 a.m. a caller at AMC Theaters reported her handicap parking placard was stolen from her vehicle while it was parked at the cinema.
  • At 10:20 a.m. a Mountain Road caller reported the past theft of stone from a wall. Caller said there are rocks missing from an old boundary wall in the wooded area off the road.
  • At 2:27 a.m. a Lexington Street caller reported cars using his driveway as a shortcut.
  • At 3:58 p.m. police arrested Robert C. Scott, 39, of 50 Wilmington Road, Burlington, on a charge of assault and battery. Arrest made after a caller reported she would like her husband removed the house.
  • At 9:39 p.m. a caller at Papa Ginos reported their vehicle was struck and there was no information left behind. Minor damage done to right panel, wheel rim and front bumper.

  • At 10:59 a.m. a caller at the Birchcrest Arms Senior Housing reported ongoing issues with vandalism to a car. Most recently someone let the air out of his tire overnight. The caller said he brought the car to a service station and no leak was found.
  • At 3:10 p.m. a caller at Chestnut Hill Cemetery reported that a brand new flower arraignment in a vase were stolen from the Veteran grave marker of her deceased husband sometime since the day before.
  • At 4:54 p.m. police arrested Sean Griffin, 25, of 135 Highland Avenue, Leominster, on a charge of larceny over $250. Arrest made after Macy's reported a male shoplifter.
  • At 5:59 p.m. Lord & Taylor reported a female shoplifter who attempted to steal $666 worth of clothing. Female summonsed on a charge of larceny over $250.
  • At 6:43 p.m. a Louise Road caller reported that their neighbor across the street backed into his fence and is now avoiding his phone calls.
  • At 6:50 p.m. Best Buy loss prevention reported a past attempted shoplifting incident and a simple assault. A male attempted to steal to iPads and fled the store towards Lexington. Suspect left in a red 2006 Toyota Camry convertible. Suspect described as a black male wearing a Carmello Anthony basketball shirt.
