Police Logs: Man Arrested for OUI, Grab and Run Theft of Clothes

Burlington Police Department logs for April 24 to 25.

Following are excerpts from the Burlington Police Department log. Note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

April 24

  • At 11:49 a.m. police arrested a man (unidentified) after a Rockland Trust Company manager reported a male smashed the front doors of the bank.
  • At 2:15 p.m. a caller from Building 19 reported finding large bones on the side of the building. Same was an animal.
  • At 4:32 p.m. a Manhattan Drive caller reported that her picture window in her home was smashed while she was at work. She said there was a note left but this is an ongoing issue with a child in the neighborhood. Suspect and father agreed to pay restitution.
  • At 7:09 p.m. a caller at Macy's reported that a male acquaintance threatened to do harm to her over statement he made to his girlfriend. Police advised her to make official complaint.
  • At 7:36 p.m. a Corporate Drive caller reported that a group of youths have been drinking behind the building as of late. Caller requested extra checks.
  • At 7:55 p.m. a Leopold Street caller reported an extension cord was stolen from his yard.
  • At 9:48 p.m. police arrested Brian Keith McHugh, 54, of 103 Pinnacle Road, Harvard on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, failure to signal and speeding in violation of a special restriction. Arrest made after motor vehicle stop.
  • At 10:09 p.m. a High School student reported the past theft of their iPad.
  • At 11:46 p.m. a caller at Chili's Grill & Bar reported their vehicle was damaged in a hit and run accident. Heavy damage to the front end, hood and driver side fender.

April 25

  • At 11:33 a.m. police issued a summons to a Burlington resident on charges of operating an uninsured motor vehicle, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and leaving the scene of property damage. Summons issued after an Arborwood Drive caller reported a sedan with heavy damage was left in the pool house overnight and the license plate was removed.
  • At 5:19 p.m. a caller from Nordstrom Rack reported that at 2 p.m. two white men did a "grab and run" theft of $168 worth of clothing.
  • At 8:54 p.m. police arrested a Burlington man on a warrant from another agency.
