Police Logs: Man Arrested for Shoplifting, Driver Punched After Parking Spot Altercation
Burlington Police Department logs for May 20 to 22.

Following are excerpts from the Burlington Police Department log. Note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
May 20
- At 6:50 a.m. a caller from Burlington High School reported that the Jersey barriers in the student lot had been turned sideways blocking the entrance. DPW moved the barriers.
- At 12:44 p.m. a caller at the Middlesex Commons reported someone took her dog from her parked vehicle. Dog jumped from vehicle and ran off, the police log states.
- At 2:27 p.m. a manager from Burlington Auto Service complained that he was unhappy with the police response to his call of an unwanted customer earlier that morning.
- At 4:22 p.m. police arrested Michael S. Pond, 46, of 11 Christian St., Danville, NH, on a charge of larceny over $250. Arrest made after Sears loss prevention reported they had detained a suspect that allegedly stole between $300 and $400 worth of merchandise.

- At 11:13 a.m. a caller reported a large amount of needles strewn about near the on-ramp to 128 North at Cambridge Street. Too many to be picked up by hand and police requested assistance by Massachusetts DPW lodged.
- At 3:25 p.m. a caller on Seven Springs Lane reported malicious damage to their motor vehicle.
- At 9:40 p.m. a caller reported his motor vehicle was missing from the Burlington Mall parking lot and that a vehicle near his spot had a broken window. Car stolen from the parking lot and police entered it into system.
May 22
- At 12:08 a.m. police arrested a Lowell man on a warrant from another agency. Arrest made after the man was released from Lahey Clinic.
- At 12:13 p.m. a caller reported a fight over a parking space at Lahey Clinic. Caller said the driver of a Ford SUV got out of his vehicle over a parking spot argument and punched him in the face.
- At 1:52 p.m. a caller from Sonesta reported she has a guest staying at the hotel who owes $3,000. Caller said something is not right and may be a scam.
- At 5:01 p.m. a caller at Rahanis Park reported a group of youths breaking bottles in the park. The group was gone when police arrived.
- At 10:04 p.m. a caller on Spring Valley Road reported that while he was working on his vehicle it rolled backwards and the front tire pinched his shoulder. The vehicle also struck his other vehicle. Caller reported his was okay.
