Police Logs: Three Men Arrested for Shoplifting, Phone Scams Reported
Burlington Police Department logs for April 22 to 23.

Following are excerpts from the Burlington Police Department log. Note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
April 22
- At 12:24 p.m. a caller on Bedford Street reported a past hit and run accident at Lahey Clinic. Caller said their vehicle was backed into while parked causing minor damage.
- At 1:29 p.m. a caller from the Shell on Middlesex Turnpike reported the theft of $220 by a cashier.
- At 7:16 p.m. a Sullivan Street caller reported an incident with his neighbor. Caller said the neighbor was on his property taking pictures of his car and yelling at him. Police spoke with the neighbor who said they were upset because the caller recently moved in and their was a lot of traffic as people helped bring items to the house. Police advised of trespass procedures.

- At 9:01 a.m. a manager from Hertz reported a Nissan Altima was never returned and is presumed stolen. Police entered vehicle into database.
- At 12 p.m. a caller from Citizen Bank reported her mother has been scammed by a phone scam. She said her mother was contacted numerous times by a man representing himself as a representative of Publisher's Clearing House who said she won $10,000 but needed to pay $1,000 to collect her winnings. The woman was going to meet the man but he never showed.
- At 1:28 p.m. a Paulson Drive caller reported receiving two calls from someone claiming to be her grandson who said he was arrested in New York and needed her to send $1,989 via money wire to an attorney. Caller confirmed her grandson had not traveled to New York.
- At 3:21 p.m. police arrested a Burlington man on a warrant from another agency.
- At 4:06 p.m. a manager from Coach Stores in the Burlington Mall reported $1,600 in jewelry was stolen the Sunday before. Suspect described as a white female with blonde hair.
- At 4:09 p.m. a nurse practitioner from Lynn Community Health Center reported someone tried to fill a false prescription under her authorization at the CVS on Cambridge Street. Police to investigate.
- At 9:03 p.m. police arrested three men after Sears loss prevention reported two male shoplifters left the store in a Nissan Altima. Police arrested Hector William Arroyo, Jr., 43, of 49 Fulton Street, Apartment 1, Lawrence on charges of receiving stolen property over $250 and on a warrant from another agency. Police also arrested Wilfredo Rivera, Jr., 25, of 129 E Haverhill St., Apartment 1, Lawrence on charges of receiving stolen property over $250 and on a warrant from another agency. Police also arrested Thomas Jesus Javier, 29, of 11 Lawrence St., Apartment 508, Lawrence, on charges of receiving stolen property over $250 and on a warrant from another agency.
- At 9:28 p.m. a caller from Tavern in the Square reported his vehicle was broken into while parked sometime between 6:30 and 9:30 p.m. The rear passenger window was smashed but nothing appears to have been taken.
