Police Logs: Two Arrested for Shoplifting, Woman Arrested for Assault and Battery

Burlington Police Department logs for May 25 to 26.

Following are excerpts from the Burlington Police Department log. Note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

May 25

  • At 9:58 a.m. a Country Road caller reported he was being harassed.
  • At 12:03 p.m. a caller at Wildmere Park reported youths smoking marijuana. Police took a small amount of marijuana and paraphernalia from two youths. Fine issued and parents contacted.
  • At 2 p.m. a Macon Road caller reported someone egged her house the night before. At least four eggs struck side of the house. Homeowner said she wasn't having problems with anyone who would do this.
  • At 3:41 p.m. a caller at Market Basket reported a hit and run accident in the parking lot. She said she was traveling in a lane when a red car backed out of a spot and collided with her vehicle. Minor damage caused.
  • At 4:07 p.m. police arrested two people after Lord & Taylor loss prevention reported two shoplifters in the store. Police arrested Samantha Kennedy, 22, of 20 Elliot Road, Everett, on charge of larceny over $250 and receiving stolen property under $250. Police also arrested John Marciano, 40, of Larceny over $250, receiving stolen property over $250 and assault.
  • At 5:05 p.m. police arrested Libby Pizzuto, 58, of 54 Lantern Lane, Arlington, on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and reckless operation of a motor vehicle. Arrest made after a motor vehicle accident on Cambridge Street.
  • At 6:39 p.m. a caller at Planet Fitness reported someone broke into her motor vehicle and stole her pocketbook.
  • At 7:45 p.m. police arrested Noe Reina-Delacruz, 22, of 510 East 156, Apartment 98, Bronx, N.Y. on the following charges: forgery of a document (2 counts), uttering a false document (2 counts), identity fraud, credit card fraud over $250, receiving a stolen credit card and false statement to obtain a credit card. Arrest was made after Nordstrom loss prevention reported a shoplifter and police found he had a credit card under the name of someone else.

  • At 1:30 p.m. a caller at Chestnut Hill Cemetery reported that a small wooden cross was missing from his sister's grave.
  • At 3:25 p.m. a Authurwood Avenue caller reported a tree fell down across the road and tore wires from his house.
  • At 4:07 p.m. a CVS pharmacist reported a female passed a fake prescription the day before.
  • At 10:43 p.m. police arrested Barbara Catarine Ferreira, 21, of 322 Ferry Street, Newark, N.J. on a charge of assault and battery. Arrest made following a domestic report at a Beacon Street apartment.
