Police: Rental Car Not Returned; Shoplifting Arrest; Compromised Debit Card
Excerpts from the Burlington Police Department log. These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.

Monday, Oct. 5
At 1:18 p.m., theft in progress at Kohl’s. Loss prevention reported theft. Stephan Gauthier, 28, of Melrose, was arrested for shoplifting by asportation, third offense; shoplifting by asportation, second offense.
At 4:18 p.m., credit card misuse at reported at CVS. Caller reported her debit card was compromised and used at CVS in Burlington.

At 8:14 p.m., motor vehicle crash with injuries in area of Winn Street and Cambridge Street. Caller reported a motor vehicle crash and requested assistance. One summons issued for unlicensed operation.

At 2:38 p.m., road hazard at intersection of Cambridge Street and Bedford Street. Pedestrian signal not operating upon button. MASSDOT to rectify.
At 4:56 p.m., soliciting on Eugene Road. Female reported a solicitor came to her door and was refusing to leave unless she gave him money. She gave him some cash and he left walking down Eugene Road. Apparent misunderstanding. Salesman from PS Circulations selling magazine “donations”. Same was advised of proper registration procedures. Money was returned to caller.
At 5:34 p.m., theft of a motor vehicle from Hertz. A rented motor vehicle has not been returned to Hertz. Vehicle was due back on 08/27/2015. They have been unable to contact renting customer. Nick Kallio, 26, of Bedford, issued a summons for larceny of a motor vehicle.
