Police Searching for Suspect Who Pulled Knife on Macy's Security

Do you recognize the man in the photo above? Burlington Police are looking for him in connection to a reported knife incident at Macy's.

Burlington Police are searching for the man pictured in the surveillance image above in connection to a shoplifting turned armed robbery at Macy's this evening.

Officer Mark Driscoll told Burlington Patch that at about 5:28 p.m. police received notice from Macy's that an alleged shoplifter pulled a knife on loss prevention officers as they tried to detain him.

The suspect is pictured above. He is a white male with short hair wearing a white long-sleeved shirt and what appears to be blue jeans. He was also carrying a black jacket.

Driscoll said the suspect allegedly tried to shoplift a shirt and four pairs of boxers. When Macy's loss prevention attempted to apprehend him he pulled a knife and ran out of the story. Driscoll said he was hiding between vehicle and loss prevention loss sight of him as they contacted police.

Nobody was injured in the incident, Driscoll said.

The man is now wanted for armed robbery.

"He turned shoplifting into armed robbery when he used a knife to get away," Driscoll said.
