Police: Wanna-Be Shoplifter Stuffs Hair Extensions in Her Pants; Handicapped Parking Violator Cited For Altering RMV Document

BURLINGTON, MA - Excerpts from the Burlington Department Police Department log.
Monday, Jan. 4
At 11:30 a.m. theft reported at Fedex Kinkos. Caller reported a past theft of money from her wallet by a fellow employee. She stated there she has video surveillance. Kayla M. Folk, of Saugus, issued summons for larceny under $250.

At 5:53 a.m., motor vehicle break and enter in area of Tender Learning Centre on Terrace Hall Avenue. Caller reported her vehicle was entered sometime between 3:30 and 5:50 p.m. Numerous items were taken, including GPS.

At 12:15 p.m., motor vehicle hit and run on District Avenue. Male party reported his vehicle was struck while parked at Starbucks. Summons issued to Ranganathan Godavarti, 47, of Westford, for leaving the scene of a property damage accident.
At 4:33 p.m., parking violation at Burlington Mall. Citation issued to passenger for handicapped placard misuse. Second citation issued to passenger for altering RMV document.
At 10:01 p.m., motor vehicle crash at Capital Grille. Two vehicles involved; one towed.
Wednesday, Jan. 6
At 9:04 a.m., identity fraud on Sandra Avenue. Man came into the station to report his identity may have been compromised due to unknown withdraw transactions from his PayPal account.
At 2:00 p.m., motor vehicle hit and run on South Bedford Street. Person reports his Honda Accord was hit while parked, and his right front bumper damaged.
At 2:44 p.m., shoplifting at Boston Beauty Supply. Shoplifter in store. Manager did not wish to file shoplifting charges but had suspect purchase three sets of hair extension at $77 each, which the suspected shoplifter had concealed into her pants. Shoplifter was told by management that she could continue to shop in her store as long as she could refrain from shoplifting.
At 5:13 p.m., past theft at Abercrombie & Fitch Kids. Shanice Rodriguez, 19, of Lowell, arrested for larceny over $250.
At 5:56 p.m., motor vehicle crash in area of Winn and Wyman streets. No injuries; both vehicles towed. One operator to be summonsed: Byron F. Gibbs, 53, of Lowell, for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
