Police: Woman Arrives Home to Intruder, Thwarts Burglary; New Rescue Dog Lost; Co-Worker Takes Cash From Wallet

BURLINGTON, MA - Excerpts from the Burlington Department Police Department log.
Thursday, Jan 7
At 9:31 a.m., road hazard on Oak Street at peach Orchard Road. Report of a large pothole. Highway notified.

At 11:30 a.m. theft reported at Fedex Kinkos. Caller reported a past theft of money from her wallet by a fellow employee. She stated there she has video surveillance. Kayla M. Folk, of Saugus, issued summons for larceny under $250.
At 5:53 a.m., motor vehicle break and enter in area of Tender Learning Centre on Terrace Hall Avenue. Caller reported her vehicle was entered sometime between 3:30 and 5:50 p.m. Numerous items were taken, including GPS.

Friday, Jan. 8
At 12:12 p.m., burglary in progress on Town Line Road. 911 call from Essex Regional reporting a break and enter in progress at Town Line Road house. Dispatched units, a resident was in the house at the time. Female resident arrived home to find the front door open. When she entered home, she heard an intruder walking around. Intruder fled home when he heard resident making 911 cell call. Resident reported suspect ran into waiting black car parked in front of the home. She provided a description.
Philip G. Carter, and Peter C. Carter, both of Chelmsford, arrested for for breaking and entering during the daytime (placing a person in fear).
At 6:07 p.m., past theft reported on Middlesex Turnpike.Reporting party stated that on, or around, Dec.23, 2015, his center wheel Porsche emblems were stolen while at the Burlington Mall. He stated that he did not report same at the time because he wasn’t sure where the theft took place. The man went into the Audi Porsche dealership in Burlington to order new parts, and was advised that a police inspector was investigating past thefts of same.
Saturday, jan. 9
At 4:53 p.m., two-vehicle motor vehicle crash in area of Kings bowling alley. Minor; no injuries.
At 8:06 p.m. animal call on Barnum Road. Caller reported her new dog got away from the house. The dog is a Husky mix with two collars on it but no tags. It looks like a coyote. It was last seen in the area of Fox Hill. The dog is a rescue dog from down south and is not familiar with the area.
