Potbelly Sandwich Shop Opening Next Week
The grand opening is next Tuesday with a charity "soft opening" happening on Monday to benefit People Helping People.
The incoming Potbelly Sandwich Shop in the Wayside plaza is set to open its doors next week.
Wayside plaza is located at 6 Wayside Road.
The Chicago-based restaurant that serves a variety of hot and cold sandwich options made from fresh cut meats and vegetables will have its grand opening next Tuesday, April 23.

There will also be a "soft opening" on Monday with a fundraiser to benefit People Helping People and the Burlington Food Pantry, General Manager Ian Goldstein told Patch. For a $5 donation customers can get a drink and a sandwich.
On Saturday, April 27, the restaurant will have an opening event with live music, musicians and food.

The store is also still hiring, Goldstein said. Interested applicants can find the management team in the building next to OshKosh B'Gosh, also in Wayside.

According to the Potbelly Sandwich Shop website, the Chicago-based company began in 1977 as a small antique store run by a nice young couple who decided to boost their sales by selling sandwiches. The sandwich shop, with quick service, offers a variety of hot and cold sandwich options made from fresh cut meats and vegetables. The store also offers cookies, milk shakes, soups and salads.
Potbelly is not the only restaurant slated to open in Wayside this summer. As reported on Burlington Patch, Season's 52 is set to open this summer in the old Borders location at 6 Wayside Road.
According to the Season's 52 website, the higher-end restaurant offers a variety of seasonally-inspired menu options. Entrees include Cedar Plank Atlantic Salmon, Caramelized Sea Scallops, Garlic Chicken Flatbread, Roasted Crab-Stuffed Shrimp, Ripe Plum Tomato Flatbread, Grilled Rack of New Zealand Lamb and the Char Crust Filet Mignon.
