Shawsheen Valley Tech Football Wins Spot In MIAA Division 5 Super Bowl
Shawsheen's football team will face North Reading at Gillette Stadium in the coming weeks with a state championship on the line
BILLERICA, MA — Shawsheen Valley Technical High School's football team is one win away from a state championship following a semifinal win over Dover Sherborn on Saturday.
The fourth-ranked Shawsheen team managed to push past eighth-ranked Dover Sherborn by a score of 21-14 this weekend. With the win, Shawsheen has now punched its ticket to Gillette Stadium and the MIAA Division 5 Super Bowl next month.
Shawsheen first won its way into the Final Four with victories over Worchester Technical High School and Old Rochester in the Round of 16 and the State Quarterfinals respectively. The team then headed to a neutral site in Weston for its game against Dover Sherborn, which had upset top-ranked Hudson just a week prior.

Now into the finals, Shawsheen is preparing to match up with North Reading.
Shawsheen Valley Technical High School primarily serves students from Billerica, Bedford, Burlington, Tewksbury and Wilmington.

The school’s football team had been dominant through the regular season, playing to an undefeated 8-0 win-loss record.
North Reading went 7-1 in its regular season, though it earned a higher ranking in the MIAA’s weighted power ranking scale.
North Reading this weekend won its way into a Super Bowl clash with Shawsheen via an overtime victory over Bishop Fenwick.
The MIAA had not announced dates and times for Super Bowl games as of Sunday night.
Shawsheen is scheduled to play Arlington Catholic High School this week, though, in its annual Thanksgiving game at home on Thursday at 10:15 a.m.
