The Book Corner: Library Spring Book Sale Starts Friday

The Burlington Public Library has a bunch of upcoming events and accounts of past events residents can check out. The following is a press release listing what has happened, is currently happening and what is coming soon.

Baby Storytime

Please note that due to the meeting rooms being used to house the book sale, there will be no Baby Storytime held on Friday, April 26.

“Blooming Book Sale”

The “Friends of the Library” spring book sale is being held Friday, April 25 through Sunday, April 28.  The hours of the sale are Friday-- 10:15 to 5:30 p.m.; Saturday-- 10:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Sunday-- 1:15 to 3:30 p.m. On Friday afternoon, the Lowell Spinners Canaligator will be here from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.! Sunday is “Buy a Bag Day!”.  Come in and fill a brown paper bag provided by us and pay what you think its worth:  minimum $3.  You can buy as many bags of books as you wish!

Be sure to stop in and purchase gently used books for a very reasonable price.  This is a great way to support the “Friends” and your library.  If you have a membership in the Friends, you’ll have the added benefit of the “buy 3 get 1 free” offer.

If you are not a member, you can join during sale hours and immediately take advantage of the “buy 3 get one free” opportunity.

May Baskets

The May Basket Raffle event will soon be here!  Beginning May 1, the baskets will be on display in the library and the raffle tickets will be sold (5 tickets /$5.00). There are almost 3 dozen baskets promised, and many have already arrived at the library.  The themes of these baskets touch on a wide variety of interests.  We have autographed books, wine and scratch tickets, the makings of an Italian meal, a gorgeous quilt, and a basket full of fun things for a road trip just to name a few.  You’ll want to be sure to come by the library anytime between May 1 and May 30 to view them for yourself.  I’m sure you’ll find many that you want to take a chance on winning.  Join us on Thursday evening, May 30 for a fun filled night and you may possibly walk out with a basket that you’ve won!

Join Miss Mary for a round of Blue’s Clues, a game guaranteed to get you thinking on your feet!  We take turns, cheer each other on, and have a great time!  Ages 3-6

• Zentangle for Teens -Tuesday, April 30 @ 4 pm

Join Jenna for a session of zentangling, a craft that turns everybody into an artist and everything into an art!
