Town Election: Challengers Join Clerk, School Committee Races

BURLINGTON, MA — Twelve candidates withdrew nomination papers to run in Burlington's April 10 town election in the last week, including challengers for the town clerk and School Committee seats on the ballot.

Joseph Welch is running for town clerk, against incumbent Amy Warfield, while Wajid Qureshi is challenging incumbent Martha Simon for a three-year term on the School Committee.

  • Andrea Sheehan, running for one of two three-year terms on the Board of Health
  • Christopher E. Hartling, one-year term on the Housing Authority
  • Dina S. Wassaf, one-year term as a Precinct 1 town meeting member
  • Kimberley A. Trainor, three-year term as a Precinct 2 town meeting member
  • Frank P. Monaco, three-year term as a Precinct 4 town meeting member
  • Christopher P. Murphy, three-year term as a Precinct 5 town meeting member
  • Earnest R. Zabolotny, three-year term as a Precinct 5 town meeting member
  • Salvana Shakaib, three-year term as a Precinct 6 town meeting member
  • Anthony Salamone, one-year term as a Precinct 7 town meeting member
