Town Election Update: 17 More Candidates Pull Papers

Selectman Michael Runyan pulled papers to run for re-election, making it a three-person race for two seats.

BURLINGTON, MA — As expected, Selectman Michael Runyan joined the race for two seats on the Board of Selectmen, according to an updated candidate list released by Town Clerk Amy Warfield Friday.

Runyan joins fellow incumbent Joseph Morandi and Town Meeting Member Shari Ellis in that race.

Ellis returned her papers this week, making her the first candidate to do so, according to the updated list.

Other candidates who withdrew papers in the last week:

  • Library Trustee Ram R. Vorganti, for re-election
  • Board of Health member David McSweeney, for re-election
  • Curtis P. Brian for a seat on the Housing Authority
  • Recreation Commission member David H. Norden, for re-election to a three-year term
  • Stephen A. Nelson for a one-year term on the Recreation Commission

All except Bonasserra, in Precinct 4, and DiTucci, in Precinct 6, are candidates for re-election.
