The event will feature Lichtenstein’s book and film, “WBCN and The American Revolution: How a Radio Station Defined Politics, Counterculture, and Rock and Roll.” The event is set for Oct. 19 from 6 p.m. to 8 :30 p.m. at the Burlington Public Library at 22 Sears St. in Burlington.

Lichtenstein worked at WBCN from 1971 to 1977, starting his time at the station as a teenage volunteer worker.
WBCN flourished in those days as part of the larger underground radio scene, which saw DJs play less well-known artists while speaking freely about topics such as the Vietnam War, women’s rights and the larger counterculture movement, as noted in a 2021 profile by WBUR.
