Unique Food Hall Delivery Chain Plans To Add Burlington Location

A rapidly growing chain that promises to bring world-class cuisine to your doorstep is charting an opening in Burlington.

BURLINGTON, MA — A unique food hall delivery chain that's rapidly growing its footprint may open a Burlington Mall location, according to The Daily Times Chronicle.

According to its website, Wonder offers, "Lightning-fast food delivery, takeout, and dine-in from iconic restaurants, all in one place. Order multiple restaurants at once for lunch and dinner."

The Burlington location would occupy 3,600 square feet of the mall building.

Burlington Planning Board members expressed concern about the additional traffic associated with opening a location at the mall, according to The Daily Times Chronicle, but endorsed the concept as a positive addition for the town.

Utilizing a "hub and spoke" model, food ordered from a Wonder storefront is initially prepared at an offsite, central production facility. The food is then transported to Wonder storefronts where it's then sold to customers "following a strict process of final preparation on-site."

Diners can order from the Wonder website or mobile app. The company says meals are prepared fresh and delivered in under 35 minutes on average. Third-party delivery services are not used. Pick-up and limited dine-in options are also available.

Wonder also partners with "world-renowned chefs" like Bobby Flay, Marcus Samuelsson and José Andrés. It also allows diners to order from "multiple award-winning restaurants" like DiFara Pizza out of Brooklyn and Tejas BBQ from Dallas all in one place.

Wonder now lists more than 50 locations on its website, all concentrated in the Northeast. More locations are coming to Massachusetts, including in Natick and Framingham, both listed to open in November.

The Burlington location will be on the Planning Board's next meeting agenda Sept. 4.
