Dunkin' Donuts Franchisees Celebrate Iced Coffee Day
The Iced Coffee is an agreement made with the Boston's Children's Hospital to receive $250K each year to help fund patient housing.

From Dunkin' Donuts: Local Dunkin’ Donuts franchisees are thrilled to celebrate Iced Coffee Day this Wednesday, May 24thby upholding their $750,000 commitment to Boston Children’s Hospital. As part of a three-year pledge, which was initiated in 2016, the hospital will receive a $250,000 donation each year. The franchisees of Eastern Massachusetts are committed to serving their communities and the donation will help fund Patient Family Housing Facilities, such as the Yawkey Family Inn, giving families with few resources a way to stay close to their child during long-term treatment at Boston Children's. In addition to the donation, Dunkin’ Donuts will also keep families and nurses running with monthly deliveries of Dunkin’ Donuts K-Cup® pods and coffee cups to coffee stations within the hospital and the Yawkey Family Inn in Brookline, Massachusetts.
“There is no better way to celebrate our annual Iced Coffee Day than by giving back to our local communities and we are honored to donate another $250,000 to Boston Children’s Hospital this year,” said Sue Andrade, local Dunkin’ Donuts franchisee. “We hope our loyal customers will join us on May 24th for Iced Coffee Day, where they can enjoy one of New England’s favorite beverages and receive a special thank you card designed by children who are being treated at Boston Children’s Hospital.”
Dunkin’ Donuts keeps hospital staff, patient families and fans running all day long with Iced Coffee, both at home and on the go. “We are appreciative of the continued support from the Dunkin’ Donuts franchisees and appreciate being a part of the annual Iced Coffee Day celebrations. Each year, the $250,000 donation from the franchisees helps to provide relief for families at one of the most difficult times in their lives by providing affordable accommodations in a home-like environment,” said Carola Cadley, Vice President of Corporate Development, Boston Children’s Hospital Trust.
Due to their strong reputation and impressive staff of doctors, nurses and specialists, thousands of families visit Boston Children’s Hospital from across the country, but many cannot afford the high costs of local housing during their child’s stay at the hospital, which can range from weeks to even months. To meet these needs, Boston Children’s Hospital offers an affordable home away from home to more than 1,000 families annually at the Yawkey Family Inn, where families can connect with other parents.
