5 Things: Armory Meeting, State Rep. Office Hours

Deadlines, events and other items you should know about on March 4 in Charlestown.

1. Snow possible: There is a slight chance of snow showers before 10 a.m. today. The rest of the day will be partly sunny with a slight chance of rain showers afterward, according to the National Weather Service. High: 42, Low: 34.

2. Armory meeting: Help plan the future development of the old Charlestown Armory building at a public meeting today at 7 p.m. at the Schrafft's Center dining hall (529 Main St.). The Boston Department of Neighborhood Development will present a draft version of their request for proposals for the building, asking the community to provide feedback before the RFP goes out to potential developers. 3. Book discussion: Drop by the Charlestown Branch of the Boston Public Library today at 6:30 p.m. for a discussion of the biography “Cleopatra: A Life,” by Stacy Schiff. This book group is free and open to all.

4. International Women’s Day: Today is the deadline to RSVP for the city’s International Women’s Day Celebration, to be held on Friday, March 8 at Simmons College (300 The Fenway). A suggested donation of $6 per person will include a light continental breakfast and an informative discussion on the issue of women and hunger. RSVP at http://iwd2013.eventbrite.com.

5. Coffee talk: Rep. Eugene O’Flaherty holds office hours every first and third Monday of the month from 11 a.m. to noon at Zume’s Coffee House.
