5 Things: CNC Meeting, Screenwriting Workshop
Deadlines, events and other items you should know about on May 7 in Charlestown.

1. Warming up: Today will be partly sunny, gradually becoming sunny, with a light wind, according to the National Weather Service. High: 73, Low: 52.
2. Council meeting: The Charlestown Neighborhood Council will meet at 7 p.m. tonight at the Knights of Columbus hall (545 Medford St.). This meeting is open to the public. Agendas should be available prior to the meeting at charlestownneighborhoodcouncil.org. If you would like to come before the CNC, contact David Whelan at 617-201-3802 or email whelan.dm@gmail.com to be put on the following month's agenda.
3. Music Together: Drop by the Charlestown Branch Library (179 Main St.) today at 11 a.m. for Music Together with Ms. Bridget. This program is perfect for preschoolers, but babies and toddlers will have fun with a little help from a grownup friend. All children should be accompanied by an adult.

4. Screenwriting workshop: Ever wanted to learn more about screenwriting for movies? The Boston Neighborhood Network is offering two workshops on the subject, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, May 7-23, from 7-9 p.m. and on Saturdays, June 1-29, from 12:30-3 p.m. Cost is $100 for BNN-TV members and $150 for non-members. 5. Members needed: A new Charlestown community health leadership council is being formed, and local residents are needed to help fill spots. The 17-person council will work to further develop health priorities in Charlestown. Nomination papers will be accepted throughout the summer. Learn more: http://patch.com/A-4jtT.
