5 Things: Marathon Monday, Paul Revere's Ride

Deadlines, events and other items you should know about on April 15 in Charlestown.

1. Partly sunny: Marathon Monday will be partly sunny with a high near 55 degrees and a low around 42, according to the National Weather Service.

2. Tax deadline: Happy Patriots’ Day! Boston Public Schools, the libraries and most state and city government offices are closed for the holiday. It also means Massachusetts residents have one more day to file their state income tax forms (due by the end of the day Tuesday, April 16). However, today is the deadline to file your federal income tax forms.

3. Bike parade: The Charlestown Mothers Association will hold its annual Patriots' Day Bike Parade at The Training Field (Winthrop Square) today. From 9-9:30 a.m., kids can decorate their bikes and scooters in red, white and blue. At just after 9:30 a.m., the group will bike and scoot over to City Square Park to celebrate Paul Revere’s ride with the Friends of City Square Park. There will be a scavenger hunt for school age kids at City Square.

4. Paul Revere’s Ride: A Paul Revere impersonator will ride through Charlestown today on his annual trip from Boston to Lexington and Concord. He will stop briefly at City Square Park shortly before 10 a.m.

5. Marathon Monday: Around 20,000 runners will hit the streets today in the 117th annual Boston Marathon, logging 26.2 miles from Hopkinton to Boston, ending on Boylston Street in front of the Boston Public Library. The first group (mobility impaired) will set off at 9 a.m., with the last group setting off at 10:40 a.m. Looking for a good place to watch the action? Check out this list.
