5 Things: One-Month Marathon Bombing Anniversary

Deadlines, events and other items you should know about on May 15 in Charlestown.

1. Chance of showers: Today will be increasingly cloudy with a chance of showers between 3 and 10 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. High: 64, Low: 53.

2. Bombing remembrance: Beacon Hospice in Charlestown (529 Main St.) is hosting a special gathering today from 2:50-3:20 p.m. to mark the one-month anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombings. All are invited to come remember the people affected by the bombings and to share words of hope and healing. Beacon Hospice chaplains will facilitate this event. 3. Project meeting: The Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood Services will hold an abutters meeting today at 7 p.m. at the Battle of Bunker Hill Museum (43 Monument Sq.) regarding a proposal to create off-street parking for one vehicle at 143 High St. and a proposal to construct a rear deck at 44 Chestnut St. This matter will go before the Zoning Board of Appeal on May 21. 4. Puppet time: Drop by the Charlestown Branch Library (179 Main St.) today at 10:30 a.m. for a special puppet-themed Nursery Rhyme Story Time.

5. Job search help: Neighbors helping Neighbors USA meets every Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Boston Public Library’s Central Branch (700 Boylston St.). Membership is open to anyone in career transition including unemployed or underemployed individuals and recent college graduates in the fields of business, nonprofit, and education, as well as individuals re-entering the job market, struggling small business owners and anyone looking for part-time or volunteer work.
