5 Things: Sullivan Square Meeting, 'Almost Blue'

Deadlines, events and other items you should know about on May 16 in Charlestown.

1. Warming up: Today will be breezy and sunny with a high near 80 degrees and a low around 53, according to the National Weather Service.

2. Sullivan Square meeting: The Boston Redevelopment Authority will host a community meeting today at 6:30 p.m. to discuss plans for developing new parcels that will be created by the redesign of Rutherford Avenue and Sullivan Square. The meeting will be held at the Schrafft's Center cafeteria (529 Main St.).

3. Charlestown theater: Theatre on Fire will present the final weekend of their modern noir thriller “Almost Blue” on the Charlestown Working Theater stage (442 Bunker Hill St.) starting tonight at 8 p.m. The show will also be performed on Saturday, May 17 and Sunday, May 18. Tickets cost $25 and are available at theatreonfire.org.

4. Free art: Admission to the Institute of Contemporary Art/Boston (100 Northern Ave.) is free to all ages every Thursday from 5-9 p.m.

5. Screenwriting workshop: Ever wanted to learn more about screenwriting for movies? The Boston Neighborhood Network is offering a workshop on the subject, on Saturdays, June 1-29, from 12:30-3 p.m. Cost is $100 for BNN-TV members and $150 for non-members. Register online at bnntv.org.
