5 Things: Sullivan Square Meeting, Charlestown Vigil

1. Mostly sunny: Today will be mostly sunny with a high near 63 degrees and a low around 42, according to the National Weather Service.

2. Sullivan Square meeting: The Charlestown Neighborhood Council and Boston Redevelopment Authority will hold a meeting today at 7 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus hall (545 Medford St.) to discuss the process of choosing a planning consultant for the upgrade of Sullivan Square. Representatives from the BRA Economic Development Department and Department of Neighborhood Development will also be on hand to answer questions.

3. Marathon vigil: The Townie Association Inc. is organizing a Boston Marathon vigil tonight at 8 p.m. at Eden Street Park in Charlestown. Candles will be provided by the Mishawum Park Tenants Association. For more information, call Sean at 617-784-4519.

4. Performance and book giveaway: The Charlestown Branch of the Boston Public Library (179 Main St.) will host a performance by the Peanut Butter and Jelly Dancers today at 2 p.m. followed by a Reading is Fundamental book giveaway. Children of all ages are invited to attend. Also today at the library, bring children of all ages by at 10:30 a.m. for a nursery rhyme story time.

5. Fenway open house cancelled: The Fenway Park annual open house that was scheduled for today has been postponed in light of recent events. No make-up date has yet been posted. Some museums and sites around Boston were closed Tuesday in the wake of the Boston Marathon bombing. Other sites, such as the Museum of Fine Arts and the Institute of Contemporary Art, offered free admission and a place of respite. Before heading out to these and other locations around the city today, be sure to check their websites for the latest closure information.
