City Councilor Pressley Partnering with Boston Groups for Prom Clothing Drive

At-Large Boston City Councilor Ayanna Pressley has partnered with Boston GLOW and United Sisters of Color for “Operation Prom Dress and Tuxedo,” and they are collecting prom attire for young women and men who are not able to afford the cost of prom.

Councilor Pressley will hold a collection drive on Tuesday, April 9 from 8-9 a.m. at the Eastern Bank adjacent to Ashmont Station, 1906 Dorchester Ave.

“The young people in our city deserve the opportunity to attend their prom,” Pressley said. “The cost should not prevent them from participating in what is a rite of passage for young people. Help us make prom possible for our young women and men.”
