Orange Line Shut Down Between Back Bay, North Station

The MBTA Orange Line is experiencing 15-minute delays as of 2:40 p.m. Wednesday, and officials plan to terminate service between Back Bay and North Station because of a medical emergency at State Street Station.

Customers needing service in the Downtown area are being advised to use the Green Line. The MBTA is recommending the following:

• For service to the Back Bay area, use the Green Line to Copley;
• For service to the Tufts Medical Center and Chinatown area, use the Green Line to Boylston Street;
• For service to the Downtown Crossing area, use the Red Line as well as the Green Line to Park Street;
• For service to the State Street area, use the Blue Line;
• For service to Haymarket and North Station, use the Green Line.
