At-Large Candidates Forum Set for Monday

Neighborhood groups from around the city are sponsoring a forum tonight in Beacon Hill. Learn more about the at-large candidates.

Today is Monday, Oct. 24. Here are five things you need to know today.

1. Did you know there's by increasing voter turnout? I've mentioned Vote Charlestown here before, but on Sunday they had . I'll try to post some details from organizers on how it went, but if you want to get involved, check out their page at: www.facebook.com/votecharlestown

2. I don't see Charlestown on this list, but it looks like neighborhood organizations from around Boston are sponsoring from 6:30 to 8:30 at the Park Street School at 67 Brimmer Street (on the flat of Beacon Hill). The forum's moderator will again be Peter Nessen, a long-time Beacon Hill resident and well-known former government official. The at-large race is the only one in the upcoming election where Charlestown voters truly have a stake.

3. The Neighborhood Council's Development Committee and the Boston Redevelopment Authority will meet on Wednesday to (that big garage). The meeting starts at 7 p.m. at the Knights. For the record, the CNC did not send Patch notification of this meeting. I had to find this posting in the Patriot-Bridge. Also for the record: I've repeatedly asked the CNC members to send me notification of all of their meetings. 

4. Don't forget -- this Friday is the . Spend the evening at the Knights, hear some Motown, raise money for a .
