Attention Moms with Strollers: Stroller Strides is Coming to the Navy Yard

Plus, the mayor invests in road repairs after a long winter.

Today is Monday, April 25. Here are five things you need to know today.

1. ! ...And what is it? It's a workout for moms. With strollers. According to the description I got, it's "a total fitness program … that includes power walking and intervals of strength and body toning exercises." The program is taught by certified trainers and it's open to moms of all levels. How do you get involved? Check outwww.strollerstrides.net/boston or email lana@strollerstrides.net for more information. There *is* a fee involved here. (Not sure what it is, though.) It seems like there are also lots of discounts and free samples involved too. The first 15 moms to arrive Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. get a free pair of BabyLegs.

2. Here's a sweet story. A local couple gave birth to their baby -- at home, here in the neighborhood -- last Thursday night, according to a report in the Globe. Seems like the mom went into labor too quickly to get to MGH and dad, with the help of an EMT on the phone, helped her through delivery. You can read the full piece here.

3. So even though the Mayor declared last week that "" in Boston, he's still making sure the roads are safe for those of us behind the wheel.City crews will be repaving and reconstructing nearly 36 miles of roadways damaged by the long, brutal, pothole-inducing winter. The city managed to level fund $20 million for street repairs, and launched a new program to extend the life of roads that are five to 10-years-old. And – it includes an effort to notify residents when work is being done on neighborhood streets.

4. While we're on the subject of cars. I got this notice about a Sullivan Tire contest for a chance to take some swings against Jon Lester, or pitch against Dustin Pedroia at Fenway ParkEntering is free, and it ends Aug. 14. Winners will be announced on their website, so sign up here
