Bella Bond, Child Found Dead on Beach, to Be Laid to Rest
A dog walker discovered the toddler's remains abandoned in a trash bag in June.

Bella Bond, whose remains were found dumped in a trash bag on a Deer Island beach this summer, will finally receive a proper burial. The state medical examiner’s officer has reportedly released the child’s body.
Bella’s biological father, Joseph Amoroso, told the Boston Globe that he is planning a “private funeral and burial.”
Rachelle Bond and Patrick McCarthy, Bond’s boyfriend, were arrested and charged in connection with the death of Bella, who was formally known to the world as “Baby Doe.”

Investigators say McCarthy “intentionally” killed Bella, then took extensive steps to cover up the act, with the help of Bond.
McCarthy is facing a charge of murder, while Bond is being held on $1 million bail for accessory to murder. Bond witnessed McCarthy take the life of Bella inside their Boston apartment, according to a statement she made to investigators.

“She was a demon anyway,” McCarthy reportedly told Bond after committing the murder. “It was her time to die.”
Amoroso never had custody of Bella and never got the chance to meet his daughter. Her death was declared a homicide by the medical examiner’s office.
“I’m going to put laying my daughter down to rest before anything else. Her body has been through enough,” Amoroso told the newspaper.
Bella’s funeral services will be handled by Caggiano Funeral Home in Winthrop. No date has been planned as of now.
