Bike Lanes Back on the Agenda Tonight
Neighborhood leaders and city officials are hosting what could be a decisive meeting on bike lanes in Charlestown tonight.

Today is Monday, May 2. Here are five things you need to know today.
1. The future of bike lanes in Charlestown could be determined tonight -- and you should be there to have your say. The Neighborhood Council, along with representatives from Boston Bikes (the city's official bike department) will host an open community meeting at the Knights, starting at 7 p.m. There will be a presentation on the bike lane proposal for Charlestown and ample opportunity for residents to ask questions and weigh in. For background on the issue, you can on bike lanes. And to get a sense of what the neighborhood is thinking, you can from last week -- where we asked folks to share their thoughts on camera. I'll be there tonight, so if you can't make it, check back again tomorrow for a story on the meeting.
2. Looking to do some internal spring cleaning? You might want to check out Shawn Pelton's at 6 p.m. at Ambiance Salon & Spa on Main Street. She's welcoming anyone who is curious about Heart Forgiveness, a four-part experiential and healing workshop she is certified to lead. For more details and to RSVP, call Shawna at 617-202-9717. You can also read a little more about the work Shawna does .
3. And at the same time this evening, Patch contributor Karen Fabian will be teaching a new yoga class -- a Women's Wellness Weeknight Stretch. This is a 90-minute class that will focus on a new theme each week -- maybe stretching your hips or relaxation poses. It's $15 per class. For more details and to reserve a spot, check out her site www.barebonesyoga.com.
4. Reminder: Go out for dessert this week! Why? Because two local businesses are teaming up with Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer to raise awareness for breast cancer -- and funds for research on the disease. From May 2 to 8, The Warren Tavern and Figs will offer unique desserts on their menus -- and 100 percent of the sales from these will go toward research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. More than 250 restaurants and cafes around the state will participate in this. If you're interested in a full list of participating establishments, check out www.bostonbakesforbreastcancer.org.
5. Today's forecast: Mostly cloudy with a high around 60. Chance of rain about 30 percent.
