Boston Begins Preparations for Possible Wicked Winter

In just a matter of days, Boston went from enduring a sweltering heat wave to beginning preparations for what’s expected to be another brutal winter.
Boston welcomed its first salt delivery on Thursday ahead of the snowy winter months. It’s never to early to gear up, especially after the 110.6 inches of snow this past winter.

Large trucks dumped 3,000 tons of salt at the Public Works site on Frontage Road. An additional 9,000 will be delivered next week, according to the city.
Six other sites throughout the city are already equipped with road salt.

Crews in Boston removed roughly 40,000 truckloads of snow this past winter.
