Bring a Lunch, Learn How to Write a Business Plan
The Chamber of Commerce hosts its monthly brown bag lunch today -- with a focus on how to write business plans.

Today is Wednesday, April 27. Here are five things you need to know today.
1. It's the fourth Wednesday of month. Not only does this mean May is basically upon us, it also means that today the Charlestown Chamber of Commerce is hosting one of its Brown Bag Luncheons. Today's event features Richard Gray, founder of Syrris Ltd. He's going to walk participants through the basics of writing a business plan. The event is free for Chamber members, but if you're not a member yet and you'd like to attend, the drop-in fee is $25. Bring your lunch over to the Bunker Hill Museum at noon.
2. Calling all bloggers or wanna-be bloggers! In the next couple of weeks Patch will be rolling out some new blog features and I'm really interested in recruiting some folks from the neighborhood to participate. If you want to blog, let's talk. If you already have a blog and you happened to live in Charlestown, let's talk. As you may already know, Patch is owned by AOL. And AOL recently merged with HuffPost, one of the largest blogging sites on the internet. We'll be integrating some of the best of the HuffPost into the site... drop me a line or send any interested writers my way: kristi.ceccarossi@patch.com or 617-833-3751.
3. Want to learn more about the pediatric care at the MGH Charlestown Health Center? During lunch on Thursday, there will be a for expectant parents or new patients who'd like to get to know the pediatricians at the center. You can also take a tour of the practice. The forum runs from noon to 1:30 p.m. More details? Click here.
4. It's Arbor Day this week. Hug a tree. Or plant one. That's what they're doing over at the Esplanade to celebrate on Friday. Ten more weeping willow trees will be planted at the Otis Grove area. Apparently willow trees were very important to the original design of the park, and over the years many of them have been lost. The 10 new ones are largely the gift of the Beacon Hill Garden Club, which, we can guess, has the resources to make some serious donations.
5. Chance of thunderstorms this morning... but check this out: high of 75. Chance of rain 40 percent.
