CHAD March Against Drugs Tonight
Deadlines, events and other items you should know about on June 8 in Charlestown.

1. Chance of rain: Today will be mostly cloudy with a chance of showers, according to the National Weather Service. Showers are likely in the evening. High: 75, Low: 63.
2. CHAD March: Charlestown Against Drugs will hold the annual March Against Drugs tonight beginning at 6 p.m. at Boston Police Department’s District A-1 Station (20 Vine St.). This event is free and open to the community. In case of rain, the parade will continue as planned, ending at Edwards School instead of Eden Park for the scheduled speakers.
3. Read to Seamus: Children are welcome to drop by the Charlestown Branch Library (179 Main St.) on Mondays in June from 4:30-5:30 p.m. to read to trained therapy dog Seamus. For more information, call 617-242-1248.

4. Mayor race: Help pick the next Mayor of Charlestown by buying ballots for your favorite local candidate. Each ballot costs $1 each, with proceeds to go to the Townies Association, and gives the buyer a chance to win $500. June 13 is the deadline to buy ballots.
