Charlestown Man Arrested on Slew of Gun Charges
Tyree Cannady, 19, was arrested after selling a high-capacity firearm to undercover Boston police officers.

A Charlestown man is facing a slew of gun charges after undercover Boston police officers busted him for the illegal sale of a high capacity firearm.
As part of an ongoing investigation, law enforcement officials arranged a meeting to purchase a weapon from Tyree Cannady, 19, of Charlestown. Officers met Cannady in the area of 718 American Legion Highway in Hyde Park, according to police.
Cannady arrived at the arranged location in a vehicle with four other men, police said. He then reportedly handed the undercover officers a bag containing a Norinco Mak-90 firearm and two magazines of ammunition in exchange for money. The suspect then attempted to drive away from the scene.

The suspect vehicle was blocked by multiple marked police units before Cannady could make an escape. According to police, the suspects then attempted to flee the scene on foot, but they were tracked down after a brief pursuit.
Cannady was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, unlawful possession of a high capacity feeding device, and illegal sale of a firearm.

During a search, Cannady was found to have 15 individual bags of crack cocaine in his pocket and was additionally charged with possession with intent to distribute Class B drugs.
The operator of the vehicle, 19-year-old Rakyah Brown of Malden, and the passengers, 22-year-old Rashean Brown of Boston, 21-year-old Chevrick Humber of Dorchester, and a 17-year-old male juvenile from Roxbury were all arrested and charged as well.
